PRF FACE LIFT

The Platelet-Rich Fibrin Therapy

A PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) facelift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses the patient's own blood to rejuvenate and lift the skin. PRF is derived from the blood and is rich in growth factors and stem cells. The process involves drawing a small amount of blood, which is then processed to separate the PRF from other components.

Key Steps in a PRF Facelift:

  1. Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient.

  2. Centrifugation: The blood is placed in a centrifuge, where it is spun to separate the PRF from the other components of the blood.

  3. Injection: The PRF is then injected into specific areas of the face to stimulate collagen production, improve skin tone and texture, and reduce wrinkles and sagging.

Advantages of PRF

The benefits of PRF have led to a widespread interest in its use for anti-aging and regenerative purposes. The healing properties of the blood components in PRF can be used as a cosmetic treatment for the following:

  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles

  • Tightening and toning skin

  • Mild collagen and volume loss

  • Crow’s feet

  • Dark under eye circles

  • Acne scarring

  • Smile lines

Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow, with the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and volume correction over the next three to six months. The effects of Cosmetic PRF can last 12 months to two years, depending on the individual. Cosmetic PRF can be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers for quick volume correction. Fillers provide a matrix for building new collagen and can be used to accelerate and sustain the benefits of cosmetic PRF.

Immediately after the treatment you will notice that fine lines and wrinkles have been softened. Deeper wrinkled areas may look more plump and smoother. However the material that has been injected will slowly be absorbed into the lower parts of the skin and underlying tissues since the objective is to develop long term growth of collagen and to stimulate the fibroblasts (the most common cells in connective tissues). This can eventually result in the creation of a better platform for the skin which in turn leads to a more healthy smoother and renewed skin surface.

The results are gradual and vary with each person though typically you could see improvements in skin tone and texture within weeks and further improvements will continue for several months to come.
